If you are posting a problem/project:
How is a project different from a problem?

Project is usually bigger version of a problem. Project typically requires more than one person from different backgrounds to solve it. Both projects and problems can be posted for free. However, if they are not posted for free, the minimum price for the paid project is $10 and the minimum price for the paid problem is $2.

Do I need to create a group?

If you want to post a project, it is required to use a group. If you post it as a problem, then you don't have to create a group.

Can I post a problem for free?

Yes. If no-one is ready to solve your problem for free, it is recommended that you should post the problem again with an appropriate amount of money. The minimum price for the problem (if not free) is $2.

Can I post a project for free?

Yes. If no-one is ready to solve your project for free, it is recommended that you should post the problem again with an appropriate amount of money. The minimum price for the project (if not free) is $10.

What deadline should I choose for a project or problem?

It is highly recommended that you choose a realistic deadline in such a way that the user gets enough time to solve the problem or project.

How many files can I attach while posting a project or problem?

You can attach only one file. If you have many files, zip the files into one file and attach the zipped file. The size of the zipped file should not be more than 25MB.

What kind of project or problem can I post?

The problem should be related to a new software or existing software or programming language, or creating a video tutorial. If the solution of the problem or project can be delivered online, it can be posted. However, if we find it completely irrelevant, we may delete it.

What if the problems and projects I want to post do not belong to a item specified in the software list?

You can always choose "Other" as an option in the list to post them.

Can I edit the problem after I have posted it?

It depends on your level. If you just starting using our website, your user level is 1. In that case, you can not edit the problems and you have to post the problem again. If your user level is more than 3, then you can edit the problems posted by you.

Can I edit the project after I have posted it?

Yes. You can edit most of the details until the project is asigned to a group. Once it is asigned, you can edit part of the details such as updating the attachment files.

Can I remove group members?

No. Currently you can only add members. If you want to delete a member, you can create another group with new members that you want to add.

How do I know that my problem/project is solved?

When the helper upload a solution, the status of your problem will change to "Demo" or "Solved". You will also be notified through an email when the helper uploads the solution.

How will I pay for the problem/project?

When a helper is assigned to solve your problem/project, a button (Approve and Pay) will automatically appear in the details of the problem. You can click on the button and credit card options (Visa, Discover, Mastercard, American Express, JCB) will appear for the payment.

When do I need to pay?

When a helper is assigned to your problem, it is recommended to pay immediately. In this way, the helper can immediately start working on your problem and you will be guaranteed to get your solution.

How will I get my solution?

After you have paid, the helper will start working on your solution. As soon as the helper uploads a solution, you will be notified through an email. Then, you can go to the problem details and see your solution there.

What happens if I have paid, but I did not get my solution or the solution is incomplete?

We will give you 7 days to review the solution. If you think that the solution is incomplete, you can either contact the helper or email us at [email protected]. We will refund your money in the case of incomplete solution.

If I don't get any request to solve the problem/project I posted?

There could be many possible reasons for it to happen. Either the price of the problem is too low, or your problem is quite challenging to solve, or you have not waited for enough time.

Can I choose two users or groups to sove my problem/project?

No. You can only approve one user for a problem, and one group for a project.

What if I have paid for the solution, but I don't get my solution?

Please send us an email at [email protected]. We will do our best to get you a solution or refund your money.

How many problems and projects can I post?

There are no restrictions on the numbers of projects or problems.

Is my credit card secure?

Yes. We use First Data Global Gateway for every transactions, which is very stable, secure, and reliable. This gateway has been used by many well-known companies. See details here.


If you are solving a problem/project:
Can I solve both problems and projects?

Yes. If you think that you are capable to solve them, you can solve them. To solve a project, you must create a group if you don't have an existing one.

What types of problems/projects can I choose and how can I choose them?

Go to the account settings. Add software and programming languages of your interest. Then click on problems/projects "related to your interest" in the navigation bar.

How many problems/projects can I solve?

There are no restrictions on the numbers of projects or problems.

Can I create a group that has only one member as me?

Yes. You will be a member of the group that you created.

How many times can I send a request to the user to solve a problem/project?

One. Once the user has rejected your request, you can send it again.

How much will I be getting paid for a problem?

If you are a US citizen or working in the US, the amount that you will be getting paid = 0.7*(Original Posted Amount). E.g., if the original posted amount is $50, you will be getting paid at least $35.00.
Otherwise, the amount that you will be getting paid = 0.6*(Original Posted Amount). E.g., if the original posted amount is $50, you will be getting paid at least $30. This is due to the applicable taxes for non-US citizens and people working outside the US.

How much will I be getting paid for a project?

If you are a US citizen or working in the US, the amount that you will be getting paid = (0.7*Original Amount)/number of group members. E.g., if the original posted amount is $50, and you are the only member of the group than you will be getting paid at least $35.00. However, if there are 2 persons in the group, you will be paid $17.50.
For non-US citizens and people working outside the US, the amount that you will be getting paid = 0.6*(Original Posted Amount)/number of group members. E.g., if the original posted amount is $50 and there are 2 group members. Then you will be paid $15.00. This is due to the applicable taxes for non-US citizens and people working outside the US.

When will I be getting paid?

You will be paid at the end of every month if your outstanding balance for the solved problems and projects exceed $50 value.

I have sent a request to the user to solve the problem/project. It is not approved yet, what should I do?

You will be notified through an email if the user approves your request. Otherwise, you should wait for the user to respond.

What should I do after I am approved to solve the problem/project?

Solve it and upload the solution as soon as possible, of course before the deadline.

Do I need to be a US citizen for getting paid?

No.

How many files can I attach while providing a solution?

You can attach only one file. If you have many files, zip the files into one file and attach the zipped file.

How will I be getting paid?

If you are a US citizen, you can input your dwolla userid, paypal email, bank account number with routing number, address with name for the check. If you are not a US citizen, enter your paypal email. If you dont have a dwolla userid, please create one by clicking here and obtain $10.

Why was I not paid for the solution that I delivered?

Either your solution is not complete, or the user has not paid for the solution. You will be notified if the user has paid for the problem in advance. If the user has paid, then you are guaranteed to be paid after you have provided the solution. If you start working on the user's problem and the user has not paid, it is highly recommended that you should contact and have a mutual understanding with the user for the payment.

What types of video formats are allowed?

You can upload videos with mp4, ogg/theora, ogv, avi, mov, XESC formats. Please give us 1-2 days to convert the video into a format so that everyone on the website can access it.

When can I start working on the problem assigned to me?

As soon as you are approved to solve the problem, you can start working on it. However, you should ensure that the user has already paid for the problem if the price is not zero. Otherwise, you can communicate (email/chat) with the user and ask to pay before you start working on it.

What currencies are allowed?

We currently deal only in the American Dollars (USD).
